Campus Life is a place where students can be themselves, have fun, feel safe & build healthy relationships. Once a month there are meetings that include fun games, break out group discussions, life skill development, and messages that may relate to students (ie. how to be a friend, how to cope with peer pressure, etc.). We also meet in smaller groups two to three times a month. These groups dive a little deeper in conversation about everyday struggles, goals, and what it’s like to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Outside of weekly programming, we also connect with kids through having one-on-one appointments to talk about life and just hanging out and having fun. We are an interdenominational organization that ultimately encourages students to grow spiritually through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Campus Life?

Campus Life is more than a place or a program. Campus Life is a group of adults and students committed to making the middle school years a little easier on you. We talk about every day struggles middle schoolers may face such as; bullying, anxiety, depression etc. We also have a lot of fun playing games and hanging out. We meet weekly throughout the school year.

What can I expect my first time at Campus Life?

Expect to have a great time!
Campus Life is a place to be yourself, play pool and video games, hang out with your friends, meet new friends, and talk about the things in life that really matter.

Who can come?

Middle School Campus Life is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. You can be a student at a public or private school in the area, or be home-schooled.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Nada! Zilch!

While we (sometimes) charge for some events, we do not charge you to come to our weekly meetings. Campus Life is able to exist because of donations from individuals and businesses that care about the youth in North Iowa.

Where do you meet?

We meet at the YFC Building, New Union, 2210 S. Federal Ave. in Mason City.

Are there other Campus Life meetings other than Middle School Campus Life?

You bet! While Middle School Campus Life meets every Tuesday for 7th and 8th grade students, every Monday night is for 5th and 6th grade students, and Thursday for high school students.

When does it start? When does it end?

Every Tuesday doors open at 6:30pm. Parents can pick up their kids from 8:00-8:15pm.

Due to COVID-19 and needing to split students between outside and inside, we will be starting earlier for some meetings. You can email Angie at astephen@giyfc.org to get exact times for the meetings.

Can I bring a friend?

You wouldn't go to the movies or a concert by yourself, so bring your friends to Campus Life! Every 7th and 8th grade student is welcome!
Students can sign up at this link: https://forms.gle/bTwwh6mQJR6rENpw8 OR email Angie at astephen@giyfc.org

What do I need to bring?

Your friends, your ears, and your brain.

Are you a church or a youth group?

We are not associated with any certain church or denomination. However, we believe in a real relationship with Jesus Christ, and we believe our faith is part of living life to the fullest. To see our mission, check out our website http://greateriowa.yfc.net/about/

How do I know if Campus Life is canceled?

If school is canceled for the day (snow day, etc.), then Campus Life is canceled. No school means no Campus Life. Campus Life also does NOT meet on days when school is not in session (summer break, winter break, spring break, etc.).
