Join us on Wednesdays for Club!

Campus Life Middle School Club meets on Wednesdays at The Lighthouse in Clear Lake (417 1st Ave S - By Randy’s Market)

7th Grade: 2:30-4:00 (small groups from 3:15-4:00)
6th Grade: 3:30-5:00 (small groups from 4:15-5:00)
8th Grade: 4:30-6:00 (small groups from 5:15-6:00)

Because of Covid-19, we are meeting in blocks by grade. Students will be on site at The Lighthouse for 45 minutes before spreading out at off-site locations* downtown with small group leaders for the final 45 minutes. This will allow all students to experience Campus Life Club in a safe environment and will provide time for our leaders to sanitize between each block. A heads up, students will be required to wear a mask while indoors. For more information on the precautions we are taking to reduce the spread of Covid-19, click here. *students will not be taken off-site unless their parents have signed a permission slip. Permission slips will be texted to the parents of new students via Docusign when they check in at their first club. Paper forms will also be available on-site. Click here (insert hyperlink to permission slip) to sign one for your student now!

Beyond Club

Campus Life is so much more than just Club and Small Groups! Our staff and volunteer leaders enjoy getting to know the students at events, having conversations over coffee or cookies, playing video games, and through other shared activities. Once our leadership determines that it is safe, we also look forward to hosting larger events, taking day trips, and even going to YFC Camp next summer! If your student and their friends would enjoy spending more time in Campus Life, feel free to reach out to Kevin to learn more about these opportunities!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Campus Life?

Campus Life is more than a place or a program. Campus Life is a group of adults and students committed to making the middle school years a little easier on you. We meet weekly throughout the school year.

What can I expect my first time at Campus Life?

Expect to have a good time!

Campus Life is a place to be yourself, play gaga ball and video games, hang out with your friends, meet new friends, and talk about the things in life that really matter.

Who can come?

Middle School Campus Life is open to all 6th-8th grade students. You can be a student at a public or private school in the area, or be home-schooled.

How much does it cost?

Nothing - Campus Life is free!

While there may be a fee for a trip or an event, we do not charge you to come to our weekly meetings. Campus Life is able to exist because of donations from individuals and businesses in the North Iowa area that care about your students!

Where do you meet?

We meet at the The Lighthouse, 417 1st Ave S in Clear Lake.

Is Campus Life only for middle school students?

While our Wednesday programming is exclusively for middle school students, we also offer Campus Life for high school students in Clear Lake! For more information about Clear Lake High School Campus Life, contact Terri Orton at torton@giyfc.org

When should I show up?

During Covid, our schedule changed significantly. Because we have to limit the number of students who are in the building at any given time, we ask that students do their best to arrive on time as we will not be able to open the doors early. For the full schedule by grade, see the top of this page.

Can I bring a friend?

You wouldn't go to the movies or a concert by yourself, so bring your friends to Campus Life too!

What do I need to bring?

We encourage students to bring their own masks, although disposable masks will be provided for any student who forgets. Other than that, come as you are!

Are you a church or a youth group?

While supported by many churches, we are not associated with any one church or denomination. Our leader teams are made up of individuals from several local churches, and we come together with the shared belief of the importance of a real relationship with Jesus Christ. How do I know if Campus Life is canceled?

If Clear Lake Schools are canceled for the day (snow day, Covid shutdown, etc.), then Campus Life is canceled. Campus Life also does NOT meet on days when school is not in session (summer break, winter break, spring break, etc.). We will do our best to communicate any other cancelations through social media and text messages.
