COVID-19

Our approach to ensure the safety of all of our students, staff and volunteers in the midst of COVID-19

It is hard not to be hopeful as we continue to see positive trends of the Covid-19 infections throughout Iowa.  We are prayerfully confident that the darkest days of the pandemic are behind us and we can now start reshifting our focus toward rebuilding our ministry sites.  However, just because we have turned the corner on Covid, does not mean we can ignore its continued presence in our everyday lives.  While we are lifting the majority of our mandatory Covid guidelines, we are still committed to the safety of our students and volunteers.  Staff and volunteers are expected to adjust the following guidelines for their site and make the best decision possible for their site.

Current Safety Guidelines (As of 5.20.21)

Main Safety Guidelines for All Leaders

  • Self-Screening protocol remains in-effect for prior to all in-person student contact.
  • Leaders and teens will NOT be allowed to participate in gatherings if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
  • YFC Staff and Volunteers must abide by all facility safety protocols while present in a school/institutional environment.
  • Parents/Guardians of teens in a conversational relationship are pursued to sign Parent/Guardian Liability and Release Form.
  • Make masks and hand sanitizer available before, during, and after shared experiences.
  • We would continue to follow the health department’s lead on any quarantines, closures, or other health measures needed.  All ministries will be in compliance to all local, state and federal restrictions.

Self-Screening Protocol:

  • YFC staff and volunteers will follow self-screening protocols prior to all interactions with students.
  • YFC staff are responsible to follow through in communication and accountability for leaders involved in a shared experience with kids.
  • Leaders and teens will NOT be allowed to participate in gatherings if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
